Weekend Highlights

Here are a few highlights of our weekend:
On Friday the kids didn't have school so I took Coleman to the temple. He loves going and asked if we could go every Friday they don't have school. Which is about twice a month. I am so proud of him and his desire to choose the right, he is such an example to me!!!
Ruby ate a lot of suckers!!! While we were at the temple Ruby got to spend time with her favorite person-Mrs Brandy :) I took her son with us to the Temple, Coleman and Eric are best friends!!!

On Sat. Brian and I took the 3 big girls to see Toy Story 3. It was so good I even cried!!
Earlier that day I took the little girls to the Mall, Leland had a gift certificate to Claire's and she had so much fun getting some very girlie stuff. Thanks Memere, she loved it!!!

While we were at the Mall Coleman had 3 Lacrosse games and Brian helped coach them all. They were so tired and sunburned when they got home! Coleman is getting really good at Lacrosse and I am so happy he found a sport he loves. FYI i didn't go to his games bc when I go with all the girls all I end up doing is chasing Ruby around the field and trying to keep her off the playing area. I go to a few every season and try to get a babysitter so I can actually watch him. Just so ya know!
Today Brian and I were subs in the nursery at church and it was pretty fun or funny! At first Ruby liked us being in there with her, but as the time wore on she started to realize that we were giving other little kids attention and she DID NOT like it. By the end we had to just sit her in time out bc she kept trying to hit anyone that got near us. I am sure part of it was that she was so tired she couldn't see straight and I am sure part of it was that she is seriously jealous!!!! She was a little stinker!!! Once she hit the first person we were on to her and stopped her before she did it to the next victim. I think this is a sure sign that us being in the nursery is not such a great idea.

above is a picture of Brian teaching the boys on our group how to do knuckles. it was pretty funny. There are a total of 41 kids in nursery (which is ages 18months-3 yrs) and they have it split into 3 groups. We only had 7 kids today which was kind of nice.

the other picture is of Ruby enjoying her nap!!!! She really needed it 3 hours of church can ware a little girl out. Okay who am I kidding it wares me out!!!

Today at church was the primary program and a couple of weeks ago the Primary President asked Evelyn if she would do the cover for the program. The theme was I Know My Savior Loves Me. I love how she drew a heart around His face as a back ground. She was so proud of her art and so was I.
FYI: for those of you that don't know what a Primary Program is, in the LDS church once a year the children ages 3-12 do a program during the main service which usually includes songs and talks from the theme of that year. It was a beautiful service and I felt the spirit so strong and I am so grateful my kids have a chance to feel the spirit each Sunday as they go to Sunday School and Primary. We have 139 kids in our Primary and it was wonderful to see them all up front sharing the gospel.
For dinner tonight we had some great friends over and had a yummy meal, the best part was the heavenly Pretzel Raspberry Salad!!! Make it sometime you will NOT be disappointed!!!
Pretzel Raspberry Salad:
crust 2 cups pretzel
3 tablespoon sugar
2 sticks of butter
crush up pretzels add sugar and melted butter, lay on the bottom of a 9X12 baking dish sprayed with Pam. Bake in the oven at 350 for 10 mins. Let it cool.

middle layer
1 cup sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
12oz. cool whip
mix all of these and spread over pretzel crust. My little secret is sometimes I 1 and 1/2 this layer because it is the best part!!!

jello layer
3 bags frozen raspberries
3 small boxes of raspberry jello.
make the jello with 3 cups boiling water as directed on the box and instead of adding the 3 cups cold water add the raspberries, pour this over the middle layer. Cover and refrigerate it for at least a few hours. Then ENJOY!!!!
