For my birthday in FEBRUARY Brian gave me the gift of an Interior Decorator and a budget for home renovations. He is a very good gift giver, if i do say so myself. Anyway I found a couple of women that work together and we got started on planing what we wanted to do. It was a lot of fun for the first month and then it just got old. I was so excited to just be done already and it just seemed to take forever to do anything. I was living in a nightmare when they tore out my tile on the whole main level. Dust covered EVERYTHING!!! and since I had tile in my pantry I had to take everything out of my pantry and put it on my kitchen counters. It was so stressful and just seemed like it would never end, but it did end and I am so happy with everything!!!!
In the pantry area we added wall and a sliding door to hide the pantry shelves. Before they were just visible to everything! I wish I had taken a before picture so I could better describe how it was before, but believe me this was a HUGE improvement. I love how the hardware is visible, it gives it kind of an industrial feel.
This is my new mudroom, before it just had hooks and a small bench. It was always such a mess with the kids stuff. Now everyone has there own locker and they have a place for everything, even little Ruby loves to put her shoes away in her drawer. I can't imagine how much better this will be come winter when everyone has coats and boots etc. We added a memo board to match the cabinets and I just LOVE it!!!
During this process we moved Evelyn into her own room and put Ruby in with the other girls in the big room. Evelyn feels so grown up now and loves her green and blue room.
The picture of the kitchen is to show the hardwood floors we put in throughout the whole main level. We did had tile and we have always hated it!!! This was by far the hardest part of the whole thing bc the installer was so SLOW and kept telling me he would be done and then never was, it was so bad that we went on a family vaca so he could sand and stain the floors only to come home to raw floors!!! I want ed to kill him, but we lived in the basement for a few days and managed to get through it. They are solid hickory hand scraped worth every penny!!!

In the living room we got all new furniture and redid the whole fireplace area. I love my glass tile around the fireplace and the new hearth. We also added a TV cabinet above the fireplace. These are before and after pictures!!!
The pictures make it look like we painted but we did not!! We added hardwood to the stairs and it looks great!!!
We also redid the dining room but I am still waiting for some chairs that are on back order so I will post a picture of it later.
I am so thankful for Brian's great gift. I have had a lot of people ask for pictures so I thought I would just do it this way. Come by anytime and see it for yourself!!!!

Everything looks really good!!! LOVE the floors! And the mud room storage is amazing! Great color! How fun!
LOVE IT~ I especially LOVE the color of the hardwood floors and your kitchen looks fantastic! I know that renovations are a pain in the booty, but well worth it!
It looks so fabulous!!!! I love everything!! You family room looks really good, love how you can hide the TV and the furniture is fab. Of course I drool over your hardwood floors. We have hardwood in our home, but we call it softwood, because it scratches so easily and dents. What's the deal with that, we've never had that problem in any of our other houses.
Your house all came together beautifully!
I love all the finishing touches since we left. I am so happy for you to be done with most of it! love you and miss ya'll tons!
I've been excited to see pictures! It looks gorgeous. And can you have Brian talk to Stephen about gifts....:)
