Girls day out

Today was the very awaited GIRLS DAY OUT. My friend Kim and I took our girls to get manicure's and pedicure's. It was so nice to just sit and relax and introduce my girls to this wonderful world. They loved to pick out their colors and loved having the little flowers painted on their fingers and toes. Afterward we went out to lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon coloring at the kitchen table.

Our pretty toes, Evelyn didn't want to have her toes done(don't ask me why).
My favorite part of the day was this morning when Leland asked me
"What are we doing for our girls day out?"
Me: "We are going to get manicure's and pedicure's and then out to lunch"
She then replied" That will be magical"
I don't know about her, but it was magical for me.

Tired little girl!

Last night was NOT fun. I will spare you all the gross details, but lets just say from about 2am on I was up with 2 little girls(leland and Claire) and major stomach problems(if ya get the idea). Today has been slightly better so hopefully tonight will not be a repeat.
This afternoon when I put Claire down for her nap Leland wanted me to watch a show with her. So we snuggled up to Jon and Kate plus 8( we love that show, leland likes all the kids) and within 10 mins. she was OUT! I couldn't resist taking a picture of my sweet little girl.

Just so sweet!

Summertime fun!

Yesterday I decided to go and get the slip-n-slide for the summertime. The kids had such a blast as did half the neighborhood kids.

Leland is definitely the most outgoing of my girls, she just headed down the slide with no hesitation. I just love that little girl!!
Evelyn was a little more nervous, but she eventually took the plunge. I still think her hair stayed mostly dry, I really don't know how she does it. She had a blast anyway!
Claire loved being outside with the big kids, but did not go anywhere near the slide. She happily played in her water table.
Coleman taking the plunge. I think the water was a little cold. (He is so skinny and very white, no hope for a tan for this guy).

Bear has a new home

Well I finally did it, we sold Bear.
I was talking to Coleman the other night and asked him if he would be so upset if a sold Bear, I told him I would buy him a Nintendo DS and a rib stick.(You gotta love a good bribe). He said that would be great so I posted him in the local classified and within 24hrs he was sold. The lady that bought him was crazy about him and said she was going to sleep with him and he would be her big baby. I think Bear will be very happy.
I missed him for about a minute and then I was sooo happy!
Weighing in at around 125 and growing I REALLY think I made the right decision.
He really is a cute cuddle bug, but now he can be her cuddle bug and droll on he floor and chew up her stuff. So farewell to man's best friend.

Family

So So So Embarrassing

Today Brian was on the hunt for yet another pair of slacks, apparently he doesn't have the PERFECT pair for one of his sports jackets. He seriously has more clothes than I do, but that isn't the point. We went to Nordstrom, Macy and then our last stop was Joseph A. Banks. I was so thirsty I took the girls (I just had evelyn and leland) to get a drink. Well of course they wanted one too, so I got them each a fruit punch (bad choice in hind sight). Then off we go to meet Brian in the store. All was going well until Evelyn decided to get out of the front part of the double stroller. Leland was sitting a little to far back in the back seat and without Evelyn their to even out the weight the stroller went flying backwards with Leland in it. The worst part was that I had place the 2 fruit punch's in the cup holders at the top (you know to make sure there were no accidents) and they went flying to the ground and both of them spilt EVERYWHERE!!!!! Red fruit punch is now on the floor all over the carpet. I was frozen for a second and then the manager came over and was obviously pissed! I felt so so bad and embarrassed, I just kept on apologizing and he literally said nothing. And when he did speak he said "you know it is not smart to bring drinks in a clothing store" like I didn't already know that. I tried to help him clean it up, but it just wasn't cutting it, he only had like 4 paper towels and I needed about 40. I felt so bad, but at that point I was almost in tears and I had to get out of there, by the time I got out of the store I was crying pretty hard. I just couldn't help it, the tears just kept coming. A minute later Brian was out of the store and had basically told the guy he would not be spending any money in there today.

Don't get me wrong we both felt horrible, but the guy was a complete jerk to me and that is probably not the best way to get someones business. At one point during this whole thing a girl that was there with her fiance( she obviously felt bad for me) said "Ya know worse things could happen." Yea like what if we had been right next to one of the clothing racks and it had gotten all over all the clothes. That would have been an expensive trip to Jos. A. Banks.

So this is your warning: always always chose water and NEVER spill fruit punch in Jos. A. Banks, they really don't like that.

Dance Recital part 2

Today was Lelands Ballet recital, she was in Sleeping Beauty, it was really good. She definitely knew her ballet better than her tap. It still amazes me how much she loves it!
Just Beautiful!!!!
Evelyn came with us today and Coleman stayed home. Unfortunately she was not really entertained, when i think that she would have been in this if she had not quite, it almost makes me laugh. This is soooo not her thing!!! I think she will be sticking to sports. Even so, she was proud big sister.
What a princess.

Leland's dance recital!

Tonight was Leland's tap dance recital. It was so great! She was so excited to go and do her dance, it really surprised me that she was so brave. She is the youngest girl in her class and when she got on stage she just shyly did her movements and just looked so small. I was so proud of her i almost cried. The little tap steps were so cute.

I love this costume, isn't it so cute!
My little dancer and her biggest fan!
Coleman was the only one of the kids that came ( Evelyn was home sick and Claire was just to little) He was so proud of her, it was adorable. He just kept on telling her how good she did and that she was braver than he was. He also really liked all the dances. Brian was so proud of his little princess, but he was not in heaven sitting and watching a bunch of kids he didn't know. Tomorrow afternoon is her Ballet recital and he is already looking forward to it! I on the other hand can't wait, I LOVE this stuff!

After we got home I was putting her to bed and thinking about all of my kids and all I can say is I must have done something right, because I feel so blessed to be their mother.

5 months and counting

Here I am at 5 mons. I am finally feeling the baby move, she is really a laid back kid. It is so nice to feel that little movement,I am so grateful for this baby. I really wish I was 40 wks and not 20wks, but I am making the most of this last pregnancy. I will keep you posted on my growing tummy!

I am so spoiled

My husband is so thoughtful! Today was one of those days where I had to go non-stop; Swim lessons, tutoring, wal-mart, and then on top of it Leland and Claire were so so winy,so winy. There were times I was about to run for the hills. All I wanted was 30mins. of peace and quite and it just never came!
Then Brian went out to run some errands and when he came home he had roses, steak, and yummy side dishes. He then made me dinner with the girls. It was so good!!! This was one of those days that could be fixed by just a good meal and beautiful flowers!!!Brian to the rescue!!!
The best helpers a guy could ask for!
My beautiful flowers!!

One Fine Day!!!

Even though yesterday was Claire's birthday we had so much going on we decided to celebrate it today. I have never seen a little girl so excited to be the center of attention. I was so cute, the louder we sang or the more we cheered for her the more crazy and happy she got. I know my other kids might not like this but, it was my favorite party yet!! She was just so FUN!!!

Here she is with her cake I made, yellow cake chocolate frosting(the only way to go in my mind!) She was so happy when she saw it and even blew out her candles all by herself!!!
This is what happens when you let kids sit together with no adult supervision. They all helped "paint" her face with frosting-YUM!!!
I decided to just throw her in a bath in the kitchen sick, she just loved it and I couldn't resist posting this adorable picture. Does she know how to pose for the camera or what?
Claire loves her new little purse and I love this little girl form any angle! It really was a wonderful day and we enjoyed being together as a family, life just doesn't get better than this!!

Happy Birthday Claire!!

Today my little girl turns 2, I can't believe it!!! This is my sweet girl 2 years ago today I remember the day she was born so clearly, we didn't know what we were having so we were so excited. I was so nervous to have yet another c-section, Brian was the one who told me she was a girl and I just couldn't believe it! We were so happy. How could you not love a face so sweet!

Here she is today and I can't believe what a cute little girl she has turned into. She has so many fun qualities, she loves to make you laugh, loves loves to be read to and can't get enough of our big dog Bear!
Claire really does love to be with her brother and sisters. She makes us laugh with her spunky personality and her loudness in general. I guess when you are the 4th child you have to be loud if you want anything. Claire is our little sweetheart and is definitely Daddy's little girl!!!
This morning I took the kids to McDonald's for breakfast, here is Claire enjoying her pancake birthday breakfast!!!!

1st sleepover!

Well Evelyn and Leland finally broke me down! They have been asking since school got out if their best friend Addison could spend the night and I finally said yes!
They had such a good time watching the movie Enchanted and eating cookies in bed.
Here they are about 5 mins. after the movie ended, dead asleep!!!! I really thought they would be up all night but they were total little angels and went right to sleep!
I must say I really enjoy watching these girls grow up, although I wish I could slow it down a bit!!

My little vacation

This past weekend was my annual girls weekend with my Mom and sister. This year we went to good old North Carolina and had a blast! it was so nice to see my Mother and Daddy and of course my little sis., it was fun just handin' out at home and letting wonderful Becky take care of us. We had fun going to the outlets and eating great food, and I was able to get 17 scrapbooking pages done, that is a good time.
The only bad part was how HOT it was! I literally almost melted in South Carolina walking and shopping, 98 degrees and humidity doesn't mix well with a pregnant person. I was so happy to get back to Utah and the wonderful 70 degree weather we are having right now.

One thing I must do is mention what an amazing husband I have. He was so great with the kids and I think he even gave them a few baths. The funniest thing he had to do while i was gone was take Leland to her Ballet dress rehearsal. For those of you with kids in dance you know how crazy those things can be. he called me right as he went inside and you could hear the girls all the way through the phone. He was in SHOCK!!!! He told me "I don't know if I can do this, it is so crazy this is not meant for men" Well he did do it, and so many other wonderful things. I am married to a wonderful man and a very loving Father. He definitely had his moments that he probably wanted to run away somewhere, but he didn't and he made it 5 day without me. He was VERY happy to see me come home and I was happy to be home. I really enjoyed the break that i got, but what brings me my greatest happiness is my family.

Coleman just gets it

Coleman has really been upset about the fact he is going to have 4 sisters. I know he will be okay, but as a Mom I just want him to be happy, and right now he is just "MAD" as he put it.

Brian and I are sure that when he gets married he will be an excellent husband, if you can handle 4 sisters you can definitely handle 1 wife!

The other day I took the kids to dinner at Wendi's and they really had more fun than you should have at any restaurant. The girls really think Coleman is HILARIOUS!!!!!

As we left the restaurant I asked Coleman to hold Claire (if Coleman is around she always wants him) As he picked her up she hugged him and he looked at me and said

"A girl needs her brother just like a girl needs her Chocolate" How smart is this boy, he really does understand women and he is only 9.
