8 yr old project

I am a firm believer that if a child has a project then THEY are doing it. Don't get me wrong I will help them, give them ideas, buy supplies, and be a cheerleader. I Do Not do them for them EVER!!! ( I will help a little more with a science fair bc that is a BIG one, but again the kid is doing some work) anyway. Evelyn had a body project for science where she had to cover the blank body provided by the teacher with all the organs, bones, veins, muscles, etc of the body. They have been doing a study of the body for this term so this was a way to sum it all up. I gave her some ideas and bought her all the stuff and sent her to work. She and her best friend Addison worked together and had a great time. I was amazed at what she did!! AMAZED!!! It turned out SO cool and definitely looks like a 8 year old did it, which is good bc I am not in the 3rd grade anymore so it shouldn't look like a 33 year old it. I am so proud of her and more importantly she was so proud of herself. She used straws for the bones, marshmallows for the spinal cord, twizzlers for the rib cage and digestive track, etc. It turn out so good and creative.

Way to go Evelyn.

Okay, you are seriously the best mother of school-aged kids. I LOVED hearing that you don't do the projects either! Taylor and Jaxson's stuff looks age-appropriate but some of their projects pale in comparison to those of their classmates. However, at the end of the day, I know my kids learned a lot and are so proud of their work!

That project was amazing! You go girl!

That looks awesome Evelyn! Great job Tillia for not doing it for her. I love projects and sometimes encourage Jake a little too much. He reminds me it is his project and that he is a kid...I have never done them for him though...even though sometimes I want to. Projects are so fun!!!!
