Sisterly Love

I love these 2 so much. They crack me up. They had a really fun day yesterday playing together and loved wearing their sunglasses. I had to get a quick picture!!! I can't believe how fast life passes. These years with really young kids are definitely hard but I feel like they are going by so fast. I wish I could make it all stop for a little while. ( of course I would make Claire less winey too). Being a mother has it's challenges but it beats any job out there-I love being a Mommy!!!

Sweet little Tank. Haha

Tank, where do I start. He is big and obnoxious!! My parents have been visiting for a while and I don't think my Mother likes him at ALL!! My Daddy has admitted to liking him he just says he is a BIG dummy. Which is exactly what we call him "hey Dummy" "sit dummy" stop it Dummy" you get the idea. Anyway the other night my dad was sitting in the living room and no matter where he went Tank followed. He was DETERMINED to get some lovin' he kept pawing at my Dad so finally my dad just sorta started petting his paws and he was in Heaven (tank, not my Dad). I was cracking up at how he was sitting like a king getting the royal treatment. I think my Mom might have even said "well when he does that he seems kind of sweet". Lol. Honestly Tank can be a very sweet dog and most of the time he is, he just has a problem with eating food that doesn't belong to him. It is out of control. If you leave ANYTHING on the counter her will eat it. He has devoured plates of food before in a matter of seconds. I once made a batch of cookies and put them on a cooling rack and went to the bathroom by the time I got back he had eaten at least a dozen. I was so ticked I wanted to reach into his stomach and pull them out. I was traumatized that my beautiful heavenly double chocolate chip cookies were sitting in his stupid belly. There have been weeks where e has eaten as many as 5 sticks of butter...in 1week!! You would think he would be sick but no he an iron stomach. Once when my sister n law was dog sitting he ate a plate of freshly grilled hotdogs and hamburgers. Like 5 of each. They were all gone in like 5 seconds. She turned her back and he inhaled them. I thought she was going to kill him. We are pretty good about not leaving stuff out, but with Tank where there's a will there's a way. One of his other favorite treats is soggy wet pull-ups...yum!!! I mean how gross and nasty can a creature be, every-time I find one I just think to myself "why do we have this dog". Then I remember this son of mine named Coleman. He loves this nasty food snatching dummy of a dog. He loves him so much that I could NEVER get rid of him. NEVER!!!! So here I am stuck with Tank the big Dummy for the next 10-15 YEARS. SIGH!!! The irony of the whole thing is we spent like a trillion dollars to have this dog trained for 6 weeks at a training center. He did learn a little bit, but Dumb runs deep!!! This is my life, jealous much???

8 yr old project

I am a firm believer that if a child has a project then THEY are doing it. Don't get me wrong I will help them, give them ideas, buy supplies, and be a cheerleader. I Do Not do them for them EVER!!! ( I will help a little more with a science fair bc that is a BIG one, but again the kid is doing some work) anyway. Evelyn had a body project for science where she had to cover the blank body provided by the teacher with all the organs, bones, veins, muscles, etc of the body. They have been doing a study of the body for this term so this was a way to sum it all up. I gave her some ideas and bought her all the stuff and sent her to work. She and her best friend Addison worked together and had a great time. I was amazed at what she did!! AMAZED!!! It turned out SO cool and definitely looks like a 8 year old did it, which is good bc I am not in the 3rd grade anymore so it shouldn't look like a 33 year old it. I am so proud of her and more importantly she was so proud of herself. She used straws for the bones, marshmallows for the spinal cord, twizzlers for the rib cage and digestive track, etc. It turn out so good and creative.

Way to go Evelyn.

Best Buddies

Ruby LOVES her Big Daddy. He and Mama have been visiting for the past few weeks. Ruby wants to be with my Dad all the time, she loves to go on rides with him. I think he has even been treating her to hash browns in the morning after they drop off Claire at school. All my Dad has to say is Ruby I am going and she comes running to get her shoes. She just keeps saying "I go ride. I go ride". It is so cute!! She also loves his mustache. She is constantly saying "big Dada has tache and Mama has gasses" which means glasses. So cute. My Dad and Mom have been the biggest help to me and I can't imagine them leaving. :( my Dad even got stuck changing a few stinky diapers and he is never going to let me forget it. Lol. My Dad went to Texas to my brothers for a few days to see my nephew get the Priesthood and when he got back today Ruby acted like it was Christmas. She kissed and hugged him and just kept rubbing his face and laughing. It was quite the welcome home. I feel so blessed that my kids have such loving attentive grandparents.

Here is Big Daddy reading Ruby a book

Here they are sharing a few cookies.( I can't believe I let them eat in my living room. That will NEVER happen again. Especially not Ruby)

Ruby Dooby Doo

This is my cutie pie just chilling and watching Dora. She has a few shows she loves right now: Max and Ruby, Team Umizoomi, Dora and Olivia. She is growing up so fast and is talking a LOT more. She even says sentences and it is so cute. I am so glad she is a part of our family. We are truly blessed!!!

Dance Competition

Last night my girls had there first dance competition. It was a ZOO. Lol. They had over 169 total performances and that can take a LONG time. My girls started teams this year and have really liked it. They each performed a lyrical and a jazz dance and Leland is on a hip hop company and had one dance with that and also a huge production number with all the companies. It was so great!! I danced as a girl and loved it and it is fun to see my kids enjoying the same things i did as a child. Honestly if they wanted to quit and just play baseball I wouldn't care, but it's nice to have a few girlie girls in the mix. I was amazed at some of the talent I saw last night. Literally a couple times it took my breath away and gave me chills. I was really impressed with one dance studio the most and it makes me want to switch my girls. What do you think.... Where they go now is very good, but not the best. They get better every year and I'm not wasting my money, but there is a huge difference. The other place EVERY dancer had such beautiful technique and lines. They are really creating DANCERS. I know it is more intense and my studio is more laid back. I would love everyones opinion. Part of me feels if they are going to dance give them the BEST. ANd part of me thinks that they are having fun where they are and they are getting better so let it me more laid back. Thoughts?!?!?

Playing hooky

This morning Evelyn was beyond pitiful. She laid on the couch and acted as if she might die. Her head and tummy hurt and she needed to stay home from school. My parents are visiting from out of town and my mom felt so sorry for her she insisted she stay home. I know my Evelyn and she was totally faking it, but if figure what's the harm. Anyway she played with ruby and took a nice long bath and cleaned her room. It was a very productive sick day. At lunch I said to her.. "you could have gone to school?" she sorta smiled and I just said "it will be our little secret" she seemed pretty pleased with herself. I do love this girl!!!

Happy birthday to ME

On Feb 23rd I turned 33 years old, not to old yet! It was a great day and my family treated me like a queen!!! I did do a lot of laundry and most of my normal daily chores, but that night Brian stepped up and made it a great evening!!!
John got to come into town for a visit and the kids were so happy to have their Papa John, he was the most excellent house guest and is welcome anytime-he pretty much spoiled me rotten for 4 days. I never cooked one meal-NOT 1!!!! he kept my kitchen spotless and was the dream grandparent. My girls loved being his little helpers and are still talking about all his good food!!! He made awesome ribs for my birthday with baked sweet potatoes and asparagus. All of which are my favorites!!! We sure will miss Papa John and can't for the next time he comes to visit!!!

Brian stopped by a little bakery on his way home and got me these most delicious cupcakes!!! They really were so good!! I might have clapped for them they made me so happy!!! Lol. They kids loved them too and it was really a great birthday spent with my wonderful family!!!! What more could a girl ask for?????
