24th of July

We got home from our vaca about 8:30 pm and headed out to get fireworks. Here in Utah we celebrate something called Pioneer Day on the 24th of July and You HAVE to do fireworks. We invited Aunt BeBe and Ian over to watch. It was a fun way to end our vacation and the kids sure did have a blast.
Aunt BeBe holding Ruby and doing a GIANT sparkler
Ian and Claire sharing a chair.
I couldn't believe Ruby wasn't scared of the noise or anything, she was a big mess full of herself.
Watching the show

Lake Tahoe Family Vacation!!!

We went on Tuesday on a family vacation to beautiful Lake Tahoe. It was great to spend time together as a family, I really do love these yahoos.
It is so hard to get a good family picture, this is as good as it gets!

A very sweet big sister sharing her ice cream
my 2 cute little girls!!!
Ruby LOVED the elevator, she would always run to the back of the elevator and stick her little bootie up against the glass. It was so cute!!!
We had to come up with a rotating system for who got to push the buttons inside the elevator. It was apparently a very big deal. We also had to rotate who got to open the room, sharing is so much fun.

Lake Tahoe Beach

I love it at Lake Tahoe, we had so much fun, and it is just SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Brian rented a double sea kayak and took each kid for a ride around the lake. They LOVED it!!!
The water was so cold, but it doesn't seem to bother these little girls.
I guess she is thirty, because she is trying to drink the water out of the lake. I guess it is a good thing it is so clean.
My sweet Leland trying to look for shells in the very rocky sand.
Ruby loved playing in the sand and didn't understand why we didn't want her to put sand all over our blanket. Silly girl.

Putt-Putt

The kids had a great time doing putt-putt.
waiting our turn
Claire needed a lot of help. It was fun because we never keep score, it is just to hard with so many little ones.
Ruby was a nightmare the whole time. She had a BLAST "playing" but she got in every ones way and they were constantly saying PLEASE GET RUBY!!!! It was kind of funny and it was fun to watch her explore the course. She wasn't to happy when her ball disappeared at the last hole-very confused! :)
Coleman took it pretty serious

There were wooden statue of all kinds of local wild life and the kids wanted their pictures with all of them.
Leland loves to try to hold and carry Ruby. So Sweet!!!!

Taking it easy on the Lake

Thursday we rented a pontoon boat and the kids were so excited to get out on the lake. Ruby was a little cranky, but she warmed up eventually.
4 little angels
Ruby's favorite spot on the boat was sitting with her Daddy.
It is always so good for our kids to go on vacations together, the bonding is so good and it makes me so happy to see their bonds grow tighter.
I love my kids so much and feel so blessed to be their mother!!!

She loved the boat and being with her brother and sisters.
The water was literally like glass.
Coleman and Evelyn about to go a tube ride. Look at the water it is like silk.
I really wish Tahoe wasn't so far away, I would love to go all the time. I felt blessed to see such beauty, it was one of my favorite places i have ever been.
Claire and Evelyn all so much fun pretending that Claire's friend Maddie was on the boat and that she kept falling off and they had to save her. It was mostly Claire and Evelyn just played along. She had quite the imagination. It was so cute and funny.
Leland was my little helper with Ruby. Ruby kept trying to lean over the boat and Leland was on her like a mother hen. They had fun together for sure.

So Much FUN!!!

I really wish we had a boat!
We had so much fun on Friday renting a ski boat. It was a lot faster then the pontoon and a lot more fun. Coleman did a little wake boarding and we just cruised all over the Lake taking in all the amazing views.
I love these cuties. they had a great time together and no one even fought the whole time..that is a bonus!!!
The water in Tahoe is an average of 65 degrees this time of year, but it was kind of refreshing. Refreshing in the since that it took your breath away :) Notice how clear the water is, honestly I have never seen anything like it. We could see our toes, it was amazing to me. I love it!!! It will be hard for me to go to dirty lakes from now on.
This was taken right after they fell off the tube and it scared Leland because Coleman landed on her, but she is tough she was smiling in no time!!! Notice you can see their feet-amazing!!!
My adorable Evelyn, she was a big help the whole day. She manned the flag and also helped with Ruby. I love this girl to death!
Coleman was in HEAVEN. He was meant to be on the water. He loves all things water and never tires of it. Brian let him drive the boat and he thought he was pretty hot stuff!!!
Ruby was a trooper and as long as we keep her fed she was a happy girl. Here she is eating her subway sandwich. She also enjoyed chips and apples and her favorite -a cookie or two. Ruby also loved stealing sips of Brian's Coke.
She finally passed out in Brian's lap while Coleman was driving. She LOVES her Daddy and she took advantage of having so much time with him. Brian did good about not taking calls or working on his computer, I am sure it put him way behind, but we all appreciate it tons!!!

Car Ride Home

Lake Tahoe is very far away!!!
It's always more fun when you are heading to a vacation, but not so fun driving home from one. When we got in the car to go home Brian looked at me and said he wasn't ready for 10 hours in a car with 5 noisy kids. I was right there with him. The good news is we made it home and so did all the kids. There were a few times that we threatened the kids within inches of there lives, but lucky for them we didn't want to end our vaca with spankings!!!
Ruby FINALLY fell asleep at 6pm. Considering her age she did great in the car and continues to prove that she is an ANGEL!!!
Shortly after Ruby fell asleep Claire passed out cold. She did okay in the car, the worst part was when she had to pee and we were in the middle of NOWHERE, we told her to hold it but she literally flooded herself and her car seat. The most annoying part of it is that she had to pee 1000 times i swear!!!
These 3 are the REAL trouble makers. They poked, tickled, and giggled the WHOLE ride home. Literally Leland laughed 90% of the trip, which you would think would be a good thing, but it starts to wear a person down.
Brian and I just need peace and quite!!!

All in All we had a great family vacation and it was so good to spend quality time together.

Little Liar

Last night I told the girls to come upstairs to get ready to go out to dinner and this is what I saw....
I asked Claire what happened and she said that Ruby did it to her, HUM?! Really?! Something you need to know about Claire is that she is a big LIAR! I know i shouldn't call my kid that but the truth hurts. The worst part is she is a GOOD liar, she can look you straight in the face and tell you a lie and never look away or even crack a smile. I almost think she believe what she is telling you. Anyway I tried to get her to confess that she put the marker on her lips (she loves lipstick and markers so why not mix the 2, right?), but she would not say she did it. She even got mad and said I was hurting her feelings by not believing her. I really don't know what to do about this problem. The teenage years might be tricky.
Then Ruby comes up the stairs and this is what she looks like. Marker everywhere, in her hair, all over her hands, and of course on her lips. Notice how messy Ruby's mouth is and how neat Claire's was done. But I am sure that Ruby did both. Definitely Claire was telling the truth. Sigh!!!!!
TROUBLE!!!! times 2

Ruby loves her Bath

Ruby loves to take a bath, as soon as she hears me say bath she starts running to the bathroom and starts trying to take off her clothes. Most of the time she bathes alone, no one wants to share a bath with her because she always has to sit in the front. She is kind of a little bossy pants! She has finally caught on to the idea of saying cheese when I take her picture and I got some cute ones tonight.
The loves her big cup, she just fills it up and pours it on herself over and over. It is so fun to watch something so little make her so happy!
This is the face her gave me when I told her firmly NOT to throw the water out of the bath. She doesn't really like to be told NO!
BIG CHESSE!!!
Loves the cup!!!

I love her guts!!!
