Part 1
Well Evelyn had her first ER visit this morning, and she loved it!!! It all started last night right before bed and Coleman and the girls were playing around in the girls room and I guess Coleman got a little to rough and Evelyn fell back and hit her head on the corner of her window. When she came into my room the back of her head was dripping with blood all over everything. It was so bad that when she turned her head it spattered on my wall. Her hair was so bloody I couldn't even tell where it was coming from, so we took a quick shower and then I saw the cut on the back of her head. It wasn't so bad so I thought I would just keep an eye on her and wait for Brian to get home (he had just landed from DC). When he got home we called our awesome friend that is an ER doctor and he was working so we decided to just put her to bed and just keep an eye on her.
This morning when she got up she wasn't feeling so good, but I sent her to school anyway (probably not a good choice). 5 mins after I dropped her off the school was calling and she had thrown up and wanted to come home-obviously! When I got her home I called our friend again and his wife said to take her in just to make sure she was okay, better safe than sorry. So off we went to the ER.

Here she is in her bed, she thought she was pretty hot stuff. She said "Hey I have my own room with a TV, and gloves in case there is a bug I need to pick up, and a trash can to put it in. That's nice" She was cracking me up the whole time. When the Doctor came in he was asking her if he could take a picture of her brain, he then asked if she thought she had a big brain or a small brain. Then she says "I am really smart, I am actually a little smarter than my older brother", what a mess. The truth is she really believes it. She is smart, but not smarter then Coleman, she is just a whole lot more motivated. Later after the CT scan we were waiting in the room and Brian called and she answered my phone and he said "Hey Evelyn, how are you" and she says "I'm on a gurney." She really did have a good time, she colored and watched Toy Story and ate up all the attention. The good news is she is perfectly healthy and her brain is "big and smart" as she put it!!!

Getting her CT scan.
Part 2
The second part of this exciting day started yesterday afternoon right before I went to pick up my kids. I was laying on the couch and enjoying my nice quite house while Ruby slept. Of course no nap is complete until you are awoken by Daisy barking her head off at "something." So when someone knocked on the door she went nuts and I didn't want her to wake up Ruby so I jumped up and raced to the door, in the process I smash my toe into the coffee table and It HURT! I tried to shake it off, butt it just kept getting bigger and bigger.
So while I was at the ER with Evelyn I thought why not just get a x-ray to see if it is broken. Well IT IS and he said for me not to run for 3 weeks, which is NEVER going to happen. I will kill someone if I have to go that long, so I am hoping I can heal in 2, positive thinking baby!!! I just signed up for a half marathon and I am running it no matter what. I have about 8 weeks so I think I will be okay, in the meantime I am NOT a happy girl.

As if my toes weren't ugly enough now I have to have a big fat broken one on the end. The nurse taped it up for me so I will not be wearing cute shoes for a while-SO SAD!!!!!

poor baby - SO glad she's okay...how scary! glad she had a good experience at the hospital though! lol..
and i'm sure your littlest piggy will heal quickly if you DO WHAT THE DOCTOR TOLD YOU!!
ps (you know i am a hairaphobe anyway), but someday you will have to explain to me how you can pay for a waxing and yet NOT shave your toes!!!! especially when you are constantly flaunting them in all your sexy shoes... you are a complex woman, tillia k.
I broke my toe in May and couldn't even wear shoes for two weeks--and it was another two weeks after that before I could run. I hope your toe heals faster than mine did!!
when you told me thatyou broke your toe - I did'nt think to much about it..... on my goodness - how pitiful!!!
Evelyn has the BEST attitude - such a sweetie!!!
Your toe looks so sad! But, at least now it can get a little attention. Those poor pinky's just don't get much. But, why I really comment is to suggest a noise maker for Ruby. Ah, they block out so many annoying noises. I love them.
ok, that picture of your toe is pretty gross, I almost threw up myself :)good luck with recovery!
I am glad Evelyn is okay! Your toe, not so much! I hope you heal quick because getting that poor toe in a tennis shoe is going to hurt!
Tillia!! Those are two horrible stories!! So glad Evelyn is okay! And your poor pinky toe is a sad sight! Running with an injury makes you appreciate running without injuries so much more!! I hope it heals fast for you! Did you ever run that marathon? I don't think I ever saw you post about it.
