Evelyn was in need of some one on one time with Mom so last week we went to the mall and had to much fun. When we first walked into the mall the first thing she said to me was " This is great we don't have to listen to Claire cry and listen to Leland ask for everything pink." She held my hand the whole time and rested her head on my arm, it was so sweet. We enjoyed looking for "cool" clothes and some new shoes, she says she never gets anything new and that is kinda true (she is really hard to shop for), so it was so exciting for her to have my undivided attention. After shopping we had dinner at the food court (her choice-not mine) and then we played games at the arcade, which we never do so she was on cloud nine. Evelyn said the best part of the night was beating me at air hockey. We finished the night with ice cream. Here is a picture of her with her new clothes, she said I definitely had to blog this, so here it is!!
She got 4 new shirts (which were near impossible to find because I will not let her wear clothes from the boy section), 2 new shoes, 1 pair of gray cords, and some new PJ's.Evelyn I loved my special day with you, you are so great and a blast to hang out with,

Sounds like you two had so much fun!! I love doing the date with one child. Seems like they talk more, so we get closer! We haven't done it for a while so this was a good reminder. BTW, Does her shirt say 'star wars'? Way to go Evelyn!

Those are the best days! I took Maggie shopping on Saturday and she announced "Just the Leland girls, that's the way I like it!"
