This year for Christmas we decided to do the unthinkable and bring Christmas for 5 kids all the way to NC. It took a lot of planning and I promise you I will not be doing it again anytime soon, but having said that it was a blast! We started our trip in Raleigh because Brian and I had to attend a work event(which was fun), Then we headed to Flat Rock to Mama and Big Daddy's house. We got to spend a week with them before heading back to Raleigh Christmas Eve.
While there we had so much fun and the cousins had a BLAST. I am sure my Mom's house is still not the same. I love watching my kids play with my sister's kids, it makes me so happy that they are all so close. Coleman, Evelyn, and Miles had a whole room all to themselves. They played games, watched TV, I also think they used their imagination a little as well. Miles and Evelyn had a blast playing Webkinz and they really are the best of friends. Leland, Shelbie and Claire were together non-stop and had so much fun. Coral and Claire also hit it off and Coral would go around saying "Where my friend" over and over until she would find her. Ruby was truly the best child ever at Mama's. She would go to bed perfect, smile and laugh every morning when she woke up, she loved her Big Daddy and even got in on all the big kids stuff a little. Fisher was a cutie pie and a BIG handful. He could sense if a door or cabinet was left open and he would be right there ready for some mischief. All and all it was GREAT!
My favorite thing we did was go to a Nursing Home and sing Christmas carols to all the residents. They loved it and it was a great way to share the Christmas Spirit. The kids sang their little hearts out as we visited each room and pass out candy. I am grateful my kids were able to feel the spirit by serving others. Thanks Mama for putting it all together for us.
Now for the pictures:
Coral LOVED her gift-can you tell?
Claire got a set of Olivia Dolls and was pretty excited to play with them.
Leland and Shelbie both got Easy Bake Oven and they cooked us some every delicious treats.
Fisher was so tired for all his running and climbing and mess making :)
Ruby LOVES her Big Daddy!!!
We took the kids to a bouncy house and Aunt Stacie had as much fun as the kids :)

With this many kids it's amazing they are all in the picture. Were going to need a bigger couch if we grow anymore.
