Road Trip!!!

This past weekend Leland and I got to go on a road trip to Aunt BB's house. I was VERY grateful that PaPa (Brian's Dad) came along and did all the driving. We had a fun time talking about Politics, parenting, and Life in general. Leland was PERFECT!!!! She never cried or wined, which is really good for her. After 8 hrs. of driving we finally made it to Cascade ID.

Brian stayed home with the other kids and he did great- Thanks Brian!

Leland and Ian had so much fun together, it was just cute to watch. They never fought, there was definitely a lot of laughter.
They loved playing in the tent and pretending to camp. We tried to let them sleep in it onr night, but that lasted about 5 mins.
We gave Ian our Train table since we have a house full of little girls (Coleman stopped playing with trains quite a while ago). He was so excited and all he wanted was for Leland to play with him. She actually had a lot of fun with all his boy toys.
The kids had so much fun with Papa, It really was a treat!!!
My little Mommy, Leland was all over the little guy. She loves Owen so much and it just made me happy to see how good she is with babies. I will definitely have a good helper!!!

Thanks Brittany, Andrew, Ian and Owen for letting us come and be with your family-We love you TONS!!!!!!

In full bloom!!!!

About 3 weeks ago, at about 31wks pregnant, I had a pregnancy photo shoot. One of my neighbors is an amazing photographer and I was so excited to see what she could do with this big beautiful belly. I was so happy with the whole experience and can't wait for her to take pictures of all 5 kids in Nov. Here are some of my favorites.
Brian came and had some pictures taken with me and for those of you that know Brian you know that he hates to have his picture taken. Sadly enough the only good one of him with me was the one of only his hands. He was a serious stick in the mud. I told him he needs to prepare for the pictures in Nov. because he BETTER be on his best behavior. Wish me luck! This girl is so good a capturing the moment.

I think this one is so fun. That is Brian's shirt and tie.
one of my favorites
So if anyone is wondering if I feel like I might pop, the answer is YES!! I'm sure most of you are thinking "her belly is HUGE" to which I will say yes it is (by the way, someone says that to me every time I leave the house-NICE). I'm not sure why I get so big, but all the discomfort is totally worth it when the baby is in my arms.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and I would love to know what you think.

Gotta Love this girl!

The other day Evelyn hurt her arm at school and since I was already there volunteering she just came home with me. She insisted that it was broken ( knew it was just bruised) , but to appease her I took her to the ER (we have a good friend that is an ER doc and he just saw us for free).

While we were there the Dr. asked Evelyn if she wanted a shot to help it feel better and of course she said no. ( he was JJ)

Anyway as we are walking to the car this is what Leland says

Leland: "Sissy I am so glad that you didn't have to get a shot. because there was NOWHERE for me to hide"

Leland hates shots and hates for anyone else to get a shot so this was just so cute to me. I'm sure the second the doctor said the word shot she was scoping out a place to hide.

She really is such a cutie!!!

Saturdays

Because we don't have enough going on Brian has started his MBA, it is an executive program and runs in 7 wk terms. This first term he has 2 classes one of which is on sat. mornings (9-1:30). To keep myself busy on this very very long sat. morning I took the kids to the park in our neighborhood. The kids had a great time and I was able to kill some time while Brian was gone.

Leland loves loves loves the park!!!!!
Evelyn going down the "big" slide, she was very proud.
Coleman and his best pal Claire, they really are so close it melts my heart.
Good old Daisy!! We brought a frisbee and Daisy was in heaven ,we threw it so many times I think Daisy slept the rest of the day.

Family time!

This weekend we went for a picnic and hike in American Fork Canyon. The kids had so much fun being in the great outdoors.

My 3 girls
We tried to get Coleman to swim across the stream, but he's no dummy. He waded in the water instead., of course the girls had to take their socks and shoes off and step in the water too. It was really really cold as Leland put it.
Leland with her walking stick. I love a good walking stick, it reminds me of my childhood. When I was a little girl living in the big city of Saluda,N.C. (LOL) we would go on walks and my Dad would always find me and my sister our own walking stick. I love that memory and couldn't resist passing it on to my kids.
Last but not least here is Daisy having a blast in the water.

Oh Daisy!

Friday Brian let Daisy out to go and do her thing and when she came back in she had what looked like a stick in her mouth. Brian yelled and told her to drop it, which she did NOT want to do. Brian went to pick it up and oh my gosh it was not a stick it was a..brace yourself.. a deer leg, it still had hair on it and the little paw at the bottom. I thought Brian was going to die, he threw it down and screamed. I was on my way out the door and so by the time I got home he had cleaned up any sign of daisy's lovely gift.
Sometimes dogs are highly over-rated.

The best part of the story is when we told Coleman what happened and he asked us if we kept it? Of course we sad heavens no, he said why that would have been so cool. I then said Coleman it had hair and skin on it, it was really gross. Coleman said " I could clean it and it would be awesome" Seriously to be a 10 year old boy, I do not understand this line of thinking at all!!!

Dance the day away

My 2 little girly girls.
Today was Leland's first day of dance this season. Claire on the other hand is not in dance yet, but from the looks of it she is ready to go. She wants to do whatever Leland does, so she wore some of Leland's clothes from last year and off we went to dance.
Leland had such a fun class, she is doing a combo class (ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling) and Claire danced out in the lobby. After class we went to McDonalds and had happy meals and played on the play place. They had so much fun together, I asked Leland who her best friend was and she said Claire. I'll tell you, that made my day!!!

Labor Day Activity

Today as a family we headed to Midway, Ut to the International Sheep dog competition. It started off a little rocky, with rain and cold ( only 51 degrees), but after about an hr the sun came out and we were able to enjoy some of the cool activities. We have never been to anything like this before and it was pretty cool watching the dogs herd the sheep, it is actually really impressive. We even indulged in one of my favorite fair treats, funnel cakes! YUM!!

4 happy kids, do you like Evelyn's pose?
Our favorite thing was watching the Splash Dogs competition, it was so cool! The dogs jumped anywhere from 9 ft to 21 ft into a big pool. Our kids love dogs so much, especially Claire, she was in heaven. She just sat there and watched the whole thing and never moved.
It was a good day!
